Melinda Rohn is in her 20th year as an instructor of musical theatre at Interlochen Arts Academy. Rohn is also the music director for the theatre musical productions and provides private voice lessons for theatre students.

Rohn graduated from the University of Michigan receiving a music education degree (K-12) with concentrated study in piano and voice.

Rohn has been the music director and arranger for a 10-piece swing band since 2007. The band raises money for local charities in the area and has surpassed the million-dollar mark in money raised.

Rohn has also been the music director, vocal director, arranger, and accompanist for productions and fundraisers for the local community theatre since 1982.

Rohn moved to Traverse City in 1981 to perform in a cabaret-style dinner show and became the music director and arranger for the show until it closed in 1999.

Before teaching at Interlochen, Rohn performed in multiple cities covering multiple genres of music from 1982 to 2000.

Singing is particularly personal and I believe in providing a safe and supportive environment for students to express their innermost feelings and grow as artists. Each student has a unique voice.
